Small choices, better spaces
Our approach to building a more thoughtful home — one piece at a time.
Thoughtful by nature
Sustainability isn't a switch you flip — it's a direction you move in. At Avora Home, we don't claim to have all the answers, but we do believe that the choices we make as a business matter, even the small ones.
From the materials we're drawn to, to the way we think about packaging and shipping, we try to make decisions that feel right — for our customers, for the spaces they live in, and for the world those spaces exist in.
We're not perfect, and we don't pretend to be. But we're paying attention, and we're always looking for ways to do better.
Materials that last
We gravitate toward natural materials — bamboo, wood, ceramic, stone. Not because it's trendy, but because things made from real materials tend to last longer, feel better, and age more gracefully than their synthetic alternatives. When something lasts, you replace it less. That matters.
Less, but better
We'd rather you buy one thing you love than five things you'll forget about. Our collection is curated with intention — we choose fewer products, more carefully, so that what you bring into your home is something you'll want to keep.
Mindful packaging
We're continuously reviewing how our products are packed and shipped, looking for ways to reduce unnecessary materials and make more considered choices. It's an ongoing process, and we're committed to improving it over time.
Where we are today
We want to be upfront: we're a small business, and we're still learning. We don't have every answer, and we're not going to make promises we can't keep.
What we can say is that sustainability is something we think about — not as a marketing exercise, but as a genuine part of how we want to grow. We're exploring better options for packaging. We're looking at how and where our products are made. We're asking ourselves the hard questions, even when the answers aren't simple.
We believe that progress matters more than perfection, and we'd rather be honest about where we are than overstate where we'd like to be.
The things we think about
Choosing natural over synthetic wherever we can. We prefer materials that come from the earth and return to it. Wood, bamboo, ceramic, and stone form the backbone of our collection — not because they're perfect, but because they tend to be kinder to both your home and the environment.
Favouring quality over quantity. A well-made product that lasts five years is more sustainable than a disposable one, no matter what it's made from. Durability is one of the most underrated forms of sustainability.
Staying curious. The world of responsible sourcing, ethical production, and sustainable materials is constantly evolving. We're paying attention, and we're open to changing how we do things as we learn more.
Being honest with you. We won't use sustainability as a selling point unless we can stand behind what we're saying. If we're not there yet on something, we'll say so.
If you have questions about our approach, or if you have ideas for how we can do better, we'd genuinely love to hear from you. Reach out to us anytime at contact@shopavorahome.com.
